| Summary: | G.S. 159-8 requires that each local government shall operate under an annual balanced budget ordinance. The budget provides a basis for all fiscal policy decisions during the year. The budget ordinance is the legal document adopted by the Board to estimate revenues, establish appropriations and levy taxes for a local government for the coming year. A public hearing was held May 10, 2016 at the regularly scheduled Town Board meeting.
The budget calls for the tax rate, storm water fees, and solid waste fees to remain the same. Preparation of the budget was based upon the most conservative estimates of FY 2016-2017 revenues available from local and state governments. |
