N.C.G.S 146-129(e)(6) requires that contracts entered into by the Town under the Sole Source exception for required bidding must be approved by the governing board.
At the August 23, 2016 meeting, the Board approved the use of contingency funds to enter a contract for body worn cameras and video data storage with TASER. The total 5-year cost of this contract will be $122,828.80 which exceeds the formal bidding threshold as defined by N.C.G.S. Sole source justification regarding the TASER product is attached as well. |
